The Pinotage 2020 is from two vineyards (one in Robertson and one in the Karibib) and shows incredible elegance and purity of fruit. Notes of red currant, bright cherries and pomegranate are complemented by a zesty acidity and beautiful structure. The finish is long and tannins are refined.

'Amongst bright red fruit a distinct black tea element extends upward, suggesting a development of turned-earth further down the line. Some purple fruit, notes of violet sweets and ripe cherries also mingle with the primary berry characters. On the palate, the wine is of medium body, though boasts a well proportioned structure that sits on the front of the tongue. The black tea note chimes again as the wine finishes, with a surprising creaminess.
Though Pinotage is born of two grapes known for delicacy, stylistically it is usually geared toward power. This bottling shows a more classic interpretation, one that required no manipulation or box-squeezing to achieve.' – Angus Paul, Winemaker

About the name:
'A reference to the fleeting custodianship of the lands we, humans, grow crops on. Though we may now ‘own’ them, and describe them as ‘lands’ - the plural being implicit of ownership - they will continue their docile existence forever, should we be there to tend them or not. Notably, despite this, and quite incredibly, we have this product like no other - wine - that allows us to taste those particular aggregates of earth we plant on.' – Angus Paul, Winemaker
