Drappier, Brut Nature 750ml NV
France, Champagne'Firm acidity frames this dry version, yet it's finely integrated with a subtle range of yellow plum, apricot, biscuit, fleur de sel and crushed almond flavors, providing definition without hard angles. Ends with a lacy finish.' – Wine Spectator, 92/100
'A boisterous mousse leads to a bone-dry palate, with a crisp green-apple flavor and tight minerality. It is still very young and this bottling, like all very dry Champagnes, needs to be aged in order to realize its full potential. Drink from 2021.' – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100
'Slightly darker then the wine aged under the sea. Gorgeous creamy brioche nose with apple and lemon fruit as well as a touch of red cherry. Super-crisp with more obvious red fruit on the palate. Great tension and chalky texture. Extremely precise, a very slight touch of tannic grip. Dry and long. Very pure and direct but it seems a tiny bit softer and broader than the sea-aged wine.' – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20
'Golden colour with copper hues. Nose of freshly pressed black grapes, of red, white and citrus fruits. Ample palate with flesh of vineyard peach and bouquet of aromatic herbs. spicy notes in the finish. A fine tightly knit Champagne of great purity.' – Winemaker
About Champagne Drappier:
The House of Drappier was established during Napoleonic times, though its Urville cellars date back to the 12th century. Considered to be one of Champagne's greatest boutique producers, Drappier's vintage and prestige cuvées were famously collected by Charles de Gaulle - the French general and statesman who led the Free French Forces during the Second World War. Drappier's winemaking philosophy is one of minimum intervention and, since 2008, the house has been producing Champagne with very little addition of sugar and sulphur dioxide. The wines are typically fruity, lively and exuberant with a strong Pinot Noir influence.
