Tasting notes:
'The 2019 Marienburg Kabinett is pure, bright and fresh yet heavily reductive on the nose that displays a kind of slate perfume with white fruit aromas. Lush and piquant on the palate, this is a hedonistic Riesling with elegance, piquancy and stimulating salinity. A fabulous Riesling that tastes rather like a very digestible Spätlese, though. Good length, grip and salinity. Tasted a sample in May 2020. Drink 2020 - 2045.' – Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, 93/100

'The 2019er Marienburg Riesling Kabinett, as it is referred to on the main part of the consumer label and with AP 11, was made from fruit picked at 86° Oechsle and was fermented down to fully fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. It offers a beautiful nose made of pear, vineyard peach, cassis, elderflower, whipped cream, herbs, and fine spices. The wine proves beautifully balanced and animating on the palate and leaves a gorgeous feel of herbs in the long and superbly racy yet fruity finish. This is a gorgeous Kabinett cut along the lines of the “great drinking Auslese from the 1990s” in the making! Drink 2029-2049.' – Mosel Fine Wines, 94/100

'A delicate fragrance intrigues with aromas of green fruit and a hint of earthy minerality. On the palate the Pündericher Riesling is delightfully uncomplicated and animating with the taste of sweet green apple well balanced by a lively acidity. To call it charming would be patronising. Drink 2020 – 2025.' – Michael Schmidt,, 16.5/20

About Weingut Clemens Busch:
Clemens is the 5th-generation winemaker at his family estate and began using organic practices in 1984. Later a pioneer in biodynamics, Clemens Busch is now a role model for natural, but precise German winemaking. Unlike most of the Mosel region, however, Clemens focuses on dry, elegant Rieslings that express the complex terroir of this historic region. Their unique soils in the town of Pündericherallow them to produce many iterations of the Riesling grape. Clemens Busch is based on the 3 types of slate – red, blue and grey – each imparting different characteristics and styling.
