The Glenelly Estate Reserve Red is the estate's signature red blend. It is a reference for the old claret styles where Syrah was blended together with the traditional Bordeaux varieties.

Blend: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Syrah, 18% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot

Tasting notes:
‘Cab-led (40%) 5-way fusion of Bordeaux varieties with shiraz. 2014 reprises ripeness & power (14.5% alcohol) of 2013 (4.5 stars, 94 pts), yet great detailing & precision; generous blueberry, dark plum & blackcurrant, with toasty spice (30% new oak) & savouriness on smooth, polished finish.’ – Platter’s Guide 2020, 5* (95/100)

'The Estate Reserve comes mostly from the cooler, east-facing slope at Glenelly and is a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon with 50% Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Fine, elegant and nuanced with cassis, red berry and graphite notes and granular tannins. Drink 2019-24.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 93/100

About Glenelly:
Glenelly was established in 2003 with a clear vision to produce long-ageing fine wine. It was started by May de Lencquesaing, previous owner of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Bordeaux. Much work has gone into the vineyards, cellar and winemaking but, more notably, their old-world patience has contributed to the wines. The winery is environmentally friendly and the vineyards are managed with minimal intervention and sustainable techniques.
