'A pale onionskin colour. Elegant notes of pomegranate, ruby grape fruit and crushed raspberries on the nose. A crisp and impressive entry of bright fruit and crisp acidity is followed by smooth textured mid-palate with a long and seductive finish. A finely balanced and textured wine, with a crisp natural acidity. The GlenRosé will most certainly develop complexity with age.' – Dirk Coetzee, Winemaker

'From pinotage, 2020 preview a serious rosé with concentrated red cherry fruit & touch of older oak adding breadth & complexity. Bone-dry, with lively acidity, cries out for Provençal food.' – Platter's Guide, 3.5*

Producer information The boutique winery, L’Avenir, was named by Mark Wiehe, a Mauritian businessman, who purchased the estate in 1992. However, the estate’s history spans back to the 1600s when it was one of the first sites identified for grape growing by the Cape’s earliest European settlers. In 2005, Michel Laroche (of the Chablis property, Laroche) acquired L’Avenir and continued specialising in Pinotage and Chenin Blanc just as former owner, Mark Wiehe and winemaker, Francois Naudé had done. Today, Dirk Coetzee is the winemaker of L’Avenir and focuses on producing site specific wines from their Stellenbosch sites.
