Tasting notes
Trizanne Signature Wines, TSW Sauvignon Blanc 2021
'Fresh and zippy with typical Elim seabreeze and a salty palate. There is good fruit expression and a touch of texture to the palate. Offers good value.' – James Pietersen, August 2022
Trizanne Signature Wines, TSW Syrah 2021
'Just amazing at this price. From the Swartland with lovely garrigue, blood orange and sage on the nose, leading to more seriousness than expected on the palate. Dark fruit flavours continue in the mouth, co-mingling with a savoury meat spice, caper berry and tapenade send-off.' – James Pietersen, August 2022
Trizanne Signature Wines, Benede-Duiwenhoksrivier Chardonnay 2021
'From a relatively new appellation on the Cape South Coast, distinguished for its limestone soils that are perfectly suited to Chardonnay. Unlike other SA Chardonnays, it is shy on fruit, with notes of fynbos, hay and subtle white stone fruit. The oak is well integrated, adding definition to the bone-dry, chalky palate. A great food wine and something special from Trizanne.' – James Pietersen, August 2022
‘Grapes from the area between Riversdale, Vermaaklikheid and Heidelberg. Spontaneously fermented and matured for 10 months in French oak barrels of various sizes, 20% new. A top note of blossom before pear, peach, citrus plus a hint of oatmeal on the nose while the palate is attractively delicate and energetic – light in body but possessing good clarity of fruit and full of flavour.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (93/100)
Trizanne Signature Wines, Reserve Sémillon 2019
'Barrel fermented and matured for 10 months, 20% new. Complex aromatics of hay, lime, pear and white peach plus vanilla and some leesy complexity. The palate has super-concentrated fruit and driving acidity before a finish that is pithy, even slightly grippy. Great purity and wonderfully harmonious.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (94/100)
Trizanne Signature Wines, Reserve Sauvignon Blanc Sémillon 2020
'W.O. Elim. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon. Spontaneously fermented and matured for 10 months in barrels of various sizes, 20% new. Beguiling aromatics of lime, lemon, white peach, liquorice, herbs and some flinty reduction. The palate is lean and austere but certainly not dull – this has a wonderful tension about it while the finish is long and saline. A sophisticated offering that will reward cellaring.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (95/100)
Trizanne Signature Wines, Sondagskloof White 2021
'50% of the grapes fermented on the skins for 15 days before being racked to new 500-litre barrels, the other 50% fermented in older oak. Complex and exotic aromatics of naartjie, nectarine and granadilla plus potpourri and dried herbs. The palate has a great core of fruit to go with an arresting line of acidity and long, pithy finish. Taut and yet full of detail.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (96/100)
Trizanne Signature Wines, Reserve Syrah 2019
'W.O. Elim. Grapes entirely destemmed, maturation lasting 10 months in oak, 20% new. A hint of reduction before red berries, a hint of floral perfume, fynbos and white pepper. The palate is light and energetic – great fruit definition and fresh acidity before a salty finish. A decidedly elegant rendition of the variety.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (95/100)
