Refreshing, bright and vibrant, the 2019 Radford Dale Vinum Chenin Blanc follows on from the stellar 2017 – a Wine Cellar favourite! The newly-released 2019 is a ‘must’ for summer drinking with its light, yet complex demeanour, poised, ripe fruit and savoury support. It is a wonderful wine that delivers character in spades!
It is produced from dryland-farmed vineyards at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The juicy stone fruit, aromatic sophistication and tangy apricot notes have a lift from the oak spice that belies its light 11.5% alcohol; showing off winemaker Jacques de Klerk’s affinity for minimal-intervention winemaking. Jacques has crafted a complex offering using a combination of natural fermentation, partial oaking and skin contact. From a stellar white wine vintage, the 2019 Vinum Chenin over-delivers by the bucketload!
