With alcohol sales banned, now is the perfect time to invest in some local greats. The Lady May 2015 might be Stellenbosch's best Bordeaux red and is 'very much a wine that is built to last,' in Tim Atkin MW’s words. Specialising in luxurious, award-winning Bordeaux-style blends, De Toren's Book XVII is worth the investment. Or find some of the greatest sweet and fortified wines on Strauss & Co's upcoming auction. For drinking pleasure now, Le Riche's newly released Cab ticks all the boxes. Plus, celebrate the 100th anniversary of Joseph Drouhin's Clos des Mouches – 'one of Beaune's most special sites,' according to Decanter.
