‘The 2017 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru was showing very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with aromas of Meyer lemon, tangerine, dried white flowers, green orchard fruit, beeswax and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and expansive, with considerable volume and breadth at the core that’s balanced by lively acids that lend the wine energy and tension. The finish is long and pure. This is a beautifully balanced Montrachet that I expect to show very well in bottle.’ – William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 94-96/100
About Maison Joseph Drouhin:
In 1880, a 22-year-old Joseph Drouhin settled in Beaune and founded his own wine company. His son Maurice succeeded him and established a domaine for the Drouhin house by buying land in outstanding appellations including the famous Clos des Mouches and Clos de Vougeot. Today, 4th generation Véronique Drouhin continues the family’s prestigious Burgundy legacy. With 73 hectares of biodynamically-farmed vines, Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s largest estates. With vineyards in close to 90 different appellations, Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs.
