Tasting notes:
'From SA pioneers with this variety, powerful yet fresh 2016 combines savoury spice of 2014 (4 stars, 88 pts) with polished black berry fruit of 2015 (90 pts). Silky, seamless after 2 years in oak, 20% new.' – Platter's Guide, 4.5* (91/100)

'The Beaumonts were among the early champions of this grape and continue to produce one of the better stand-alone examples. Serious, meaty and firm with impressive depth and concentration and flavours of cooked meat, fig and damson and chewy tannins. Drink 2022-26.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2020, 90/100

About Beaumont:
Beaumont, located in Botriver, is a family-run farm. It was founded by Raoul and Jayne Beaumont in 1974, and is now run by their son Sebastian Beaumont. The farm dates back to the 1700’s when it was owned by the Dutch East India Company and is now home to the region’s oldest wine cellar. Beaumont, always doing something interesting and different, were the first to introduce Mourvèdre as a single bottled variety in South Africa.
