'Lurid violet color. Sexy, spice-accented aromas of raspberry, cherry preserves, incense and succulent flowers, along with a vibrant mineral element build in the glass. Offers concentrated yet lively red berry liqueur, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that stain the palate and display sharp clarity and mineral lift. Finishes with impressive nerviness and cut. Silky tannins frame the wine’s lingering, sweet fruit.' – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 92-93/100 (Feb 2020)

'Fresh in feel, with bright red currant, damson plum and raspberry coulis notes streaming through, laced with pretty floral and mineral details along the way. Offers a long, pure finish. Best from 2020 through 2030.' – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 93/100

'Offering a mélange of black olives and mixed berries on the nose, the 2017 Gigondas Aux Lieux-Dits is mostly Grenache and Syrah, with smaller portions of Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Medium to full-bodied and ripe yet sturdy, it has tightened up considerably since last year (pre-bottling) and now looks as if it will need a couple of years to reopen and smooth out. Drink 2022-2030.' – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 91+/100 (Oct 2020)

Producer information Founded in 1874, Domaine Santa Duc is one of the top producers in the Gigondas appellation. As Robert Parker writes, 'For more than a decade, Domaine Santa Duc has been one of the jewels of Gigondas.' Since its creation, six generations have succeeded each other at Domaine Santa Duc, each adding their own contribution to the wines. Today Benjamin Gras manages the domaine after taking over from his father, Yves Gras. The domaine focuses on Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsaut and they follow biodynamic and organic farming practices.
