'From 1978 vineyard on Rustenhof farm in the Lower Helderberg part of Stellenbosch. 70% left on the skins for four days and 30% whole-bunch pressed. Elusive but attractive aromatics – a hint of flinty reduction before citrus, peach, apple and dried herbs. The palate, meanwhile, is lean (alcohol is 12.8%) with vibrant acidity and a pithy finish. Total production: 1 119 bottles.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100

Producer information Scion refers to the top part of a plant/vine or can also mean 'the descendant of'. Sinai refers to the ‘Sinai Hill’ which is a granite hill in the lower Helderberg region. Bernhard Bredell used these words to create the name Scions of Sinai which is also applicable given that he is the 7th generation (descendant) of Bredell wine farmers. Scions of Sinai Wines mainly focus on curating the uniquely located vineyards of the Lower Helderberg region around a granite hill. Bernhard hopes that his wines express the vineyard, it’s soil and the vintage clearly and purely.
