Tasting notes:
'Southern Right is re-defining Pinotage with this intense classically styled, clay-grown wine, packed with complex berry fruit, beautiful tannins and subtle spice. Full ripeness and the longer hang-time afforded by cooler sites, combined with the complex, more classic fruit aromas and structure resulting from clay-rich soil, make this wine a highly individual expression of South Africa’s unique grape variety.' – Winemaker

Alc: 13.9% | RS: 1.46 g/L | TA: 5.1 g/L | PH: 3.6

Tasting notes on the previous 2018 vintage:
'Anthony Hamilton Russell is on a mission to improve the image of Pinotage around the world. This stylishly wooded example, mostly made with fruit from the Ashbourne property, is bright, breezy and attractive, all raspberry and black cherry fruit and fine-grained tannins. Drink 2020-24.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 91/100

About Southern Right:
Southern Right, located on the Western border of Hamilton Russell Vineyards in Hemel-en-Aarde, was founded by Anthony Hamilton Russell in 1994. The 448 hectare property specializes in Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are named after the Southern Right whales, which pass through Walker Bay, just a few kilometres from the vineyards. Southern Right is committed to conservation and each bottle of wine sold contributes to their efforts.
