'From Stellenbosch grapes. Matured for 11 months in an old 500-litre barrel. The nose shows apple, naartjie and spice with a hint of leesy reduction in the background while the palate has good depth of flavour with driving acidity and nicely grippy quality to the finish. Long and savoury. Total production: 600 bottles.' – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100

'A beautifully expressive wine presented with notes of green apple, fennel bulb, orange skin, naartjie zest and a subtle hint of white pepper spice. The aromas on the nose follow through to the palate, which presents with a beautiful creamy mouthfeel and is quickly balanced out by the racy acidity. There is a great phenolic grip on the palate, bringing more texture and complexity to the wine. A stunning wine which will pair well with pork belly and chicken dishes. The wines are made with minimal intervention, spending 11 months in old 500L barrels. The grapes come from vineyards that are farmed organically.' – Banele Vakele, Winemaker
