La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 Selección Especial 2015, 1500ml
R 2,850 PER BOTTLE
What’s better than a bottle of special edition Gran Reserva from one of Rioja’s best ever producers? A magnum of course! ‘One of my go-to cuvées since my earliest days as a wine lover. … Magnificent,’ says Neal Martin. The newly released Gran Reserva 904 from the 2015 vintage is the first to receive the mention ‘Selección Especial’ on the label, in the nearly 120 years of the wine’s existence. This designation is only given in the finest of vintages, and this blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano is subtle, elegant, finessed and has a lifetime ahead of it – two if it’s a magnum.

Festive Food and Wine Pairing Pack
R 2,780 per 6-bottle case – Free delivery
This is the set of wines to take you through a festive meal – and fantastic value to boot. Champagne is a must, and the Drappier Carte d’Or is bright and zesty. The Trimbach Riesling is great with a range of appetisers, and a pitch-perfect match for gammon and lighter pork roasts. From one of the best Chenin producers in South Africa comes Alheit Hereafter Here Chenin 2022, while Moya Meaker’s Elgin Pinot Noir boasts lighter fruit, good structure and fresh acidity that’s beautiful with roast chicken and thyme stuffing, light roasted pork, or traditional beef tongue. As we move to the weightier end of the table, we include the 2016 vintage Lilian Ladouys St-Estèphe from Bordeaux. This is the perfect companion to the star roast, especially if it’s lamb or beef. The end should be sweet, and the Doisy-Daëne Sauternes 2019 offers incredible value and a luxurious finale. Bon appétit!
